I grandi nascono sempre da un progetto lungimirante, ma senza l'ineguagliabile ambizione di dare il massimo non può svilupparsi nulla di veramente grande.

A questo si può ricondurre la filosofia di Ugo, una piccola realtà che partecipa alla cultura del vino portando il suo contributo di professionalità e di progresso.

Agli inizi degli anni ottanta firma le prime bottiglie di sua produzione, selezionando personalmente le uve provenienti da sei ettari di vigneto della "Cascina Nuova", azienda agricola posta nel cuore della storica collina Gallina un tempo facente parte del grande patrimonio viticolo dei signori di Neive Conti Riccardi Candiani, oggi di proprietà Marcarino.
Le preziose esperienze acquisite nel tempo, la ricerca e la sperimentazione in vigneto ed in cantina, hanno contribuito a rendere questo produttore protagonista di quella rivoluzione qualitativa che, negli ultimi anni, ha fatto emergere una cultura elitaria del vino.

La convinzione che un grande vino nasca nel tempo e che l'attesa, gestita senza ansia, gli regali classe, importanza e longevità, inducono Ugo a porre le sue bottiglie sul mercato solo dopo un lungo e giusto riposo.

This is the guiding philosophy of Ugo Lequio, a boutique producer who strives to strike a delicate balance between tradition and innovation and has made this his most important contibution to Piedmont's wine culture.

Starting in the early 1980s, Ugo released his first bottles of wine following rigorous fruit selection from the six-hectare Cascina Nuova vineyard. This historic property is located on the sun-drenched Gallina Hill that was once part of the Neive Conti Riccardi Candiani patrimony and now belongs to the Marcarino family.

Years later, thanks to experience and experimentation in both the vineyard and the winery, Ugo Lequio has emerged as one of the protagonist of the revolutionary shift that prozes quality wine over quantity.

His personal convinction is that class and elegance are tangible in a great wine only if that wine is given sufficient time, in a stress-free atmosphere, to evolve. For this reason, Ugo insists on giving his wines a long and deserved rest before they are released.
